Meet Samantha

Samantha Morris is an experienced educator having served in the Clear Creek Independent School District for the past 17 years where she’s earned accolades such as Teacher of the Year for her commitment to excellence and her impact on the educational community. She earned her Bachelor of Science from the University of Houston–Clear Lake.

Like many of you, Samantha decided to run for this office when she recognized that the current District clerk wasn’t working full-time but collecting a full-time salary. The current District Clerk’s fight with Commissioners Court over not wanting to keep his office open during regular county business hours also led to her recognizing that it was time for a change in leadership in that office. Samantha believes we need to elect public servants – not career politicians – which is why she’s decided to step up and serve to change the elected leadership in this office to bring back fiscal accountability and public service.

Beyond her service in education, Samantha attends Clear Creek Community Church and has volunteered as a League City softball coach since 2018. She has also served on the board of the League City Barracuda swim team. She is a single mother of two young daughters and a survivor of domestic abuse. Her story is one of resilience, strength, and compassion and she brings these values into her career and community involvement, inspiring others to persevere and thrive.
